Letter: User fees make sense

Oregon has proposed a major road update that would appear to open roads up for better traffic movement.

If I’m driving in Oregon for business or pleasure, I might only be in Oregon one day a week, or I might go to and from Oregon every day. With a toll, I would pay only for my use. I would not have to pay extra gas tax even if I didn’t drive on Oregon’s roads. Only the people using the roads would pay at the time they use them.

You get what you pay for.
