Letter: Christiansen for school board

By Sam B. Gunn, Vancouver
Published: October 23, 2017, 6:00am

Vancouver Public Schools voters should look closely at school director Pos. 3 candidates. Heather Christiansen has been a long-time parent volunteer in her child’s school and serves on the district’s Management Task Force, advising the superintendent. Wendy Smith is a teacher in Evergreen Public Schools, serves on the Evergreen Education union executive board with her spouse, who has served as president of the union, and has been endorsed by the Vancouver Education Association. Voters should ask, “Which candidate appears best equipped to represent the broad interest of taxpayers, families and children of Vancouver schools?” Vote for Christiansen.
