Letter: Christiansen for Vancouver schools

By Randi Holland, VANCOUVER
Published: October 25, 2017, 6:00am

Heather Christiansen is a bright, accomplished, dedicated candidate for the Vancouver Public Schools board. Her child is a student in the Vancouver schools, so she feels a profound commitment to the quality of our district: its curriculum, facilities, staffing, offerings, and finances. She is professional, credible, energetic and gifted in bringing about practical improvements and solutions.

It is important to remember that school boards are the voice of the public. Unions and administrations have strong voices. School board members should not be arms of either; boards must represent parents and taxpayers in guiding the district.

Vote for Christiansen.
