Vancouver – The Lower Columbia Estuary Partnership is hosting an end-of-summer event at Vancouver Lake from 9:45 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Sept. 23.

The Saturday event will include a canoe paddle on the lake, litter pickup on the beach, nature activities for kids and a free lunch for volunteers and paddlers.

Each litter pickup event lasts an hour. Volunteers should bring sturdy shoes, water and sunscreen. Gloves and trash bags will be provided.

Paddlers can also sign up for a trip in one of two 29-foot stable canoes. Trips are led by Estuary Partnership outdoor educators. No experience is necessary.

Volunteers and paddlers should register at www.estuarypartnership.org.
