Columbia Springs offers nature workshops

People interested in plants, wildlife or spending time outdoors are invited to Columbia Springs fall workshops.

This month, the nonprofit will offer interactive and hands-on learning experiences.

An introduction to urban forestry workshop will teach people how to identify many safe and edible food that grows in abundance around the city.

That will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 23 at Columbia Springs Swift Classroom, 12208 S.E. Evergreen Hwy., Vancouver. Admission is $10 per person, scholarships are available.

A backyard birding workshop will include a presentation and guided walk around Columbia Springs to spot local birds. The event is planned for noon until 2 p.m. Sept. 24 in the Columbia Springs Swift Classroom, 12208 SE Evergreen Hwy., Vancouver. Admission is $10 per person, scholarships are available.
