Prep highlights: Skyview volleyball beats River

Lia Hawken had a team-high 10 kills as Skyview won its season-opening volleyball match in straight sets over Columbia River.

Grace Brenner added 5 kills, 13 digs and 4 aces.

The Storm took the first set 25-23, the second 25-16 and the third 25-21.

Alicia Wallingford had 7 kills and 7 blocks for the Chieftains.

Stars of the day

Keith Lobis, Union boys golf, shot a team-best 1-under par 35 as Union edged Kelso by four shots.

Laynie Erickson, La Center volleyball, had 12 kills, 15 digs and 4 aces in a 3-0 win over Toutle Lake.

Bella Forncook, Heritage volleyball, had 25 digs and 5 aces in the Timberwolves’ 3-0 win over Evergreen.

Emma Swett, Woodland volleyball, had 4 kills, 3 blocks and 15 assists in a straight-set win over Kalama.

Jenny Kopytuk, Battle Ground volleyball, had 7 kills, 6 digs and 4 aces in the Tigers’ 3-0 win over Hudson’s Bay.
