VANCOUVER – Music of the 1950s will set the tone Saturday when the nonprofit Friends of Fort Vancouver hold its hangar dance fundraiser.

The event, Swing Back to the ’50s, will be from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Pearson Air Museum’s Historic Hangar, 1115 E. Fifth St.

Music will be provided by the VanPort Jazz Band. Attendees are invited to wear 1950s styles, either casual or dressy. There will be a no-host bar.

Tickets are $30 a person. Tickets are limited and must be purchased in advance through the Friends of Fort Vancouver website — friendsfortvancouver.org — or at the Friends’ bookstore in the Fort Vancouver Visitor Center, 1501 East Evergreen Blvd., Vancouver.

“This is a great chance to help support the terrific educational and volunteer programs at Fort Vancouver and Pearson Air Museum, which are visited by thousands of schoolchildren every year,” Mary Rose, executive director of Friends of Fort Vancouver, said.
