Battle Ground — Six members of the Battle Ground Education Foundation volunteered in shifts at local Wal-Mart stores to help the foundation collect school supplies for students. The volunteers — Valerie Huey, Bonnie Rippengale, Mary Lee Miller, Johanna Hyatt, Joyce Lewis and Louise Tucker — each served two-hour shifts at Wal-Mart entrances to help with the foundation’s Stuff the Bus event. They handed out lists of items wanted to customers entering the Wal-Mart, and collected bags of school supplies from those customers when they left the store.
