Walk for Type 1 diabetes research set for Sunday

PORTLAND — Walkers will take to the track this weekend to raise money for Type 1 diabetes research.

More than 3,500 people are expected to participate in the JDRF OneWalk to raise money for the global organization that funds research for Type 1 diabetes. The walk begins at 9 a.m. Sunday at Portland International Raceway.

The event, hosted by JDRF Oregon/Southwest Washington Chapter, will include a continental breakfast, barbecue lunch, kids activities, car show and musical entertainment.

There is no registration fee, but donations are requested. Those raising $100 will receive a OneWalk T-shirt.
