Letter: Talk — and listen — about abortion

By Elia Warren, VANCOUVER
Published: September 23, 2017, 6:00am

Guess what? There are men and women who stand and pray outside Vancouver’s local abortion facility a couple of times a week. And beginning today, many more men and women will be there every day for 40 days, praying for the women who, through lack of loving support or counseling, are seriously planning to end the life of their unborn child.

The “pro-lifers” receive a lot of negative reaction to their being there. It would be so great if the angry passersby would take the time to stop and talk. It may help them to share their stories of where their anger is coming from. There is sympathy, compassion and prayers to be offered to them.

Everyone has a story; let us share ours and hopefully help some women write happier endings to theirs.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
