Non-league football: Evergreen 9, Black Hills 6

The Evergreen defense carried the day as the Plainsmen held Black Hills to 114 yards rushing and 34 yards passing in the non-league win at Tumwater.

“It was just solid defense,” Evergreen coach Terry Hyde said. “Just outstanding.”

Black Hills took a 6-3 lead in the fourth quarter on a 16-yard touchdown run with about five minutes to play.

Evergreen’s Tristan Fich scored on a 1-yard run with about 1:15 to play to put the Plainsmen on top for good.

Zyell Griffin led the Plainsmen with 110 yards rushing.
