BASIC TRAINING

Air Force Airman 1st Class Emily K. Piel, a 2017 graduate of Evergreen High School, has completed basic training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio. She is the daughter of Scott and Lari Piel of Vancouver.

MERCHANT MARINES — SWEARING IN

Richard Forrest Dinsdale of Vancouver was recently sworn in as a midshipman in the Naval Reserve at the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, N.Y. Dinsdale was nominated by Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Battle Ground. As part of his four-year education, Dinsdale will spend one year training as a cadet aboard ocean going vessels.
