The Building Industry Association of Clark County, Southwest Washington Contractors Association and Workforce Southwest Washington will host a free networking event Thursday.

But that’s not all. The event will also coincide with the unveiling of the Construction Workforce Plan, where the organizations hope to start a discussion about the future of the regional construction industry.

According to organizations, more than 15,000 new construction jobs are expected to come to the region, while nearly 20 percent of workers will retire.

The plan hopes to outline goals to accomplish in the next two years, including youth outreach, advancing diversity and keeping workers in the industry.
