Washougal — Gause Elementary School and Columbia River Gorge Elementary School students received a visit from the Steel Hearts Robotics 4-H Club on March 26 to demonstrate their robots and talk about their club and competitions.

Steel Hearts is made up of students from Jemtegaard Middle School in Washougal and Camas High School, Odyssey Middle School and Liberty Middle School in the Camas School District.

“Exposure to what these older students are doing is opening a window into the possibilities for elementary students,” Marina Clarke, Gause second-grade teacher and robotics club adviser, said in a release. “They get to see where their robotics and programming experience here can take them.”

Presentation is part of the competitions Steel Hearts participate in, so the visit to the elementary school was a chance for the older students to work on their presentation skills.
