Kindergarten sign-up underway in Vancouver

Vancouver Public Schools is now accepting kindergarten registrations for the 2018-2019 school year.

Any child who will be 5 years old on or before Aug. 31 is eligible to enter kindergarten.

Vancouver Public Schools’ boundary map is online at vansd.org/boundary-map. Families can also call the elementary education office at 360-313-1010 or the communications office at 360-313-1230 to find out what school their child will attend.

Parents should bring proof of their child’s birthday, immunization records and emergency contact information to their neighborhood school to register their child. School offices are open for kindergarten registration from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Registration can take an hour.

Applications are also being accepted for the district’s Mandarin and Spanish Language Learning Programs, as well as the Spanish/English Dual Language Program. Enrollment in both programs begins in kindergarten. Applications for those programs are available on the district’s website.
