Letter: Reject NRA agenda

By Nancy Schultz, Vancouver
Published: April 13, 2018, 6:00am

Sen. Lynda Wilson, R-Vancouver, (and others who think like her) just doesn’t get it; she claims the amount of money she gets from the National Rifle Association is “irrelevant” compared with millions contributed by the NRA and complains that teachers’ unions contribute more.

It’s not the quantity, it’s the quality. We want contributions to support teachers. We don’t want contributions from organizations that want to arm those teachers and “harden” our schools. We don’t want guns in schools and we don’t want politicians who accept money from the NRA or a Safari PAC — in any amount. Tell the truth — don’t obfuscate.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
