A two-vehicle collision on Northeast Timmen Road late Friday afternoon sent three people to the hospital, officials said.

Responders were dispatched to the crash about 3:50 p.m., according to emergency log notes. Clark County Fire & Rescue personnel and an ambulance also went to the scene around that time.

The crash occurred on an arterial road between La Center and Ridgefield that runs alongside Interstate 5, CCFR spokesman Tim Dawdy said.

There were two adults in each of the vehicles, Dawdy said. Three of them suffered serious enough injuries to warrant a trip to the hospital, said Clark County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Brent Waddell.

One vehicle was traveling northbound while the other was headed the opposite direction. One of the vehicles crossed the center line, causing the collision, Dawdy said.

Officials did not have information about what vehicle veered into the opposite lane of traffic or the names of the people involved.

“It was an incredibly high-impact (crash),” Dawdy said.

He used the incident to remind drivers and passengers to buckle up.

“If people use belts properly, it’s the best defense against injury in a crash, and chances of survival increase.”
