The local chapter of the national group “Meaningful Movies” is hosting a free viewing and discussion Thursday night of the documentary, “Just Eat It,” at the Cascade Park Library, 600 N.E. 136th Ave. in Vancouver.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the film starts at 6 p.m., followed by a discussion.

The film features a couple who resolve to pay nothing for a full year of groceries and follows their adventures in accomplishing that goal. It also takes a deep dive into the subject of systemic food waste and the hunger in this country.

Representatives from Clark County Food Bank, FISH, Urban Abundance, Imperfect Produce and the county Department of Public Health will attend and participate in the panel-led discussion after the movie.
