Washington unemployment rate 4.8 percent in March

OLYMPIA — According to numbers released Wednesday by the Employment Security Department, the state’s unemployment rate for March ticked up to 4.8 percent from February’s 4.7 percent amid the addition of 3,900 jobs.

Paul Turek, a department economist, says in a written statement that the rate is still hovering “near historical lows.”
