North Garrison Heights — PeaceHealth handed out Mission and Values Award to five employees from Washington and Alaska, two of whom work in Vancouver. The Overall Mission & Values Recipient was Nichole Adams, a labor and delivery nurse at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. Adams is the mother of a child with Down syndrome and uses her experience to provide comfort to other families facing similar situations and help ease their feelings of isolation and fear. She also delivers “Buddy Baskets” to these families and shares her story with them. Hollie Davis Frick, assistant general counsel at the System Services Center in Vancouver, earned the Social Justice Award for her time assisting PeaceHealth caregivers who are immigrants and those who have Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals status. She also works to help create a hospitable environment that is welcoming and inclusive. They, along with the other honorees, were given their awards April 4 at a dinner in Vancouver.
