AMBOY — The owner of North Clark County Hardware & Supply and Nick’s Bar & Grill has decided to close the store and lease the restaurant-tavern.
In a news release, owner Jeff Strong said the hardware business is temporarily closed but will reopen Wednesday for a liquidation sale.
He has leased Nick’s to Jay Smith, who operates the Fat Moose Bar and Grill in Woodland.
Strong, 54, said he has Parkinson’s disease and needs to work less. He had hoped to sell the store but was unable to find a buyer. He hopes to subdivide and lease the vacant store.
