Letter: Herrera Beutler not working for us

By Karl Thies, Vancouver
Published: August 3, 2018, 6:00am

In the last weeks, Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler sure was busy. She voted to oppose measures to mitigate climate change, reduce funding for election security, scale back the Clean Water and Endangered Species acts, cut the EPA budget, prohibit the SEC from requiring disclosure of political contributions, repeal the Washington, D.C., Death with Dignity Act, block debate about Russian interference in our elections, and oppose updated election technology and ballot security. In short, she voted right down the GOP line. So much winning, but not for the American people. If we elect Herrera Beutler again, we will have more of the same.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
