NEWPORT, Ore. — Authorities say crews rescued a man who fell from a cliff near Lincoln City.

The U.S. Coast Guard says the Lincoln City Fire Department called them Tuesday afternoon requesting a helicopter crew to help a man who fell off a cliff called God’s Thumb.

The Coast Guard says their crew helped firefighters locate the man who had fallen approximately 100 feet.

He was hoisted by a Coast Guard North Bend aircrew Tuesday evening and taken to Toledo.

The Coast Guard says the man was in stable condition when he was hoisted.
