Clark County Connects, a one-day service event, seeks volunteers of all ages for its seventh-annual event. Kickoff is 8 to 9 a.m.; projects are from 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 8. Families, groups, and individuals are encouraged to register for the event where hundreds of volunteers accomplish a variety of projects around the county. Clark County Veterans Assistance Center seeks volunteers, 18 and older, for its annual Stand Down event on Sept. 15. Set-up help is needed Sept. 14. Volunteers must pass a criminal background check.
The Salvation Army Food Pantry, at 7508 N.E. 47th Ave., is open expanded hours — 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays — and seeks additional help. Shifts, beginning at one hour per week, are flexible.
