Letter: Making a Long list

By Richard O'Brien, Vancouver
Published: August 20, 2018, 6:00am

Don’t hit the snooze button! We’re finally waking up to the realities of a Republican-controlled America, where corporations come first, the rich are taking even more from working families, children are ripped from their parents, political corruption runs rampant, and we’ve turned global allies into enemies. Trump-enablers like Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler have sold out Southwest Washington and work for the 1 percent. Unlike Herrera Beutler, Carolyn Long will represent our values and concerns — she deserves a chance to help clean a swamp that’s become very toxic. I’ll take a respected political science professor of 23 years over a President Trump puppet every time.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
