Two new Peace Poles dedicated in Vancouver

Central Park — Children from the Vancouver Parks and Recreation’s summer camp program helped dedicate two Peace Poles on Aug. 10 at Marshall Community Center and Luepke Community Center. The poles were donated by the Rotary Club of Vancouver and Rotary District 5100. The Marshall Center pole says “May Peace Prevail on Earth” in English, Russian, Spanish and Japanese, while the Luepke Center pole says “May Peace Prevail on Earth” in English, Russian, Spanish and American Sign Language. Mayor Anne McEnerny-Ogle, Vancouver City Councilor Laurie Lebowsky and former Mayor Bruce Hagensen helped dedicate the poles.
