Letter: Hold lawbreakers accountable

I can’t believe that people want to disband Immigration and Customs Enforcement because minor children were separated from parents who were trying to enter our country illegally. A couple of years ago, parents were paying “coyotes” to bring their children across the border escorted. There is no telling how many children made it to families on this side of the border, or if they were sold into child prostitution rings. Until the mayors and state governors can fix the homeless situation, illegal immigrants should be sent back to their countries. Yes, many of our relatives entered the U.S. via Ellis Island, but they applied legally and were granted access.

We should ensure that the families and older people who are here legally have a place to live. Where is the outcry and protest for these people? Due to illness, greedy landlords, or higher property taxes, people are forced out of their homes. In order to make our country great again, we need to look after our people and the people who come here legally. Don’t give the lawbreakers special treatments and privileges.
