SILVERDALE — Authorities are asking the public to avoid touching the water in a part of the Kitsap Peninsula following a sewage spill.
The Kitsap Sun reports that the Kitsap Public Health District on Monday posted no-contact advisory signs at all public access points for the northern end of the Dyes Inlet.
The spill happened Saturday on Levin Road near the mouth of Clear Creek, spewing 2,500 gallons of sewage.
The advisory is in effect through Dec. 8 and includes the north shore of Dyes Inlet from Newberry Hill Road to Anna Smith Park.
