Letter: Boy Scouts group makes changes

By Lucas Carter, Vancouver
Published: December 8, 2018, 6:00am

After the exodus of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints troops from the Boy Scouts of America, several districts have had to merge in an attempt to keep up numbers. The local Fort Vancouver District and neighboring Columbia Gorge District are two such merging districts, the former including BSA Troop 328, the troop of which I am the current senior patrol leader. With this new merging of districts, a new name is also in order. The name picked for this new district is the Columbia District. Although it’s not very original, it seems fitting.
