Yacolt man seriously injured when struck by car near Amboy

Pedestrian was struck on state Highway 503 by motorist from Vancouver

A Yacolt man was seriously injured Saturday evening when he was struck by a car near Amboy, according to the Washington State Patrol.

A WSP bulletin said Jack A. Abernathy, 67, was struck by a 2015 Volkswagen Beetle driven by Lisa J. Kingsella, 50, of Vancouver at 6:36 p.m. while he was walking across state Highway 503 near Northeast 399th Street.

Abernathy was transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. His was reported in serious condition Saturday in the hospital’s intensive care unit.

Drugs or alcohol are not believed to have played a role in the collision, according to the WSP bulletin. No charges were recommended.
