Letter: Solve crisis, follow the money

Have you asked yourself why taxpayers are footing the bill to fix the opioid “crisis”? This terrible “epidemic” that’s killing thousands of people a year is actually easy to solve.

Since the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is responsible for approving dangerous drugs, all it needs to do is remove its approval. Yup! Oh, wait. Better follow the money first.

Pharmaceutical companies wouldn’t need nearly the number of lobbyists, which in turn would mean less perks for our congressional “representatives.”

I guess it really is a very complex and mostly impossible problem to solve.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
