The Port of Vancouver hosts its fourth annual free Christmas Ships viewing event on Thursday, Dec. 20, at WareHouse ’23, 100 Columbia St. The event begins at 6 p.m. with music, food and fun; the ships themselves are expected to come bobbing along between 7:30 and 8 p.m.

This year’s festivities will include:

• Holiday classics by the Vancouver Community Concert Band.

• Face painting, balloon creations and temporary holiday tattoos.

• Free children’s books from the Fort Vancouver Regional Library Foundation and port tenants NuStar Energy, Food Express and Vanport Trucking.

• Warm beverages and cookies.

• New this year, a special illuminated LED holiday light performance.

Plus, you can purchase gourmet macaroni and cheese and drinks at the bar.

The port’s waterfront project team also will be on hand to share the latest news about redevelopment plans for Terminal 1 (where WareHouse ’23 sits), including a proposed public marketplace.
