A California-based farm announced last week that red and green leaf lettuce it recently distributed to Oregon and at least five other states is being recalled because the vegetables may be contaminated with E.coli.

Adam Bros. Farming said in a statement Thursday that produce harvested from Nov. 27 through Nov. 30 may contain the bacteria. Red and green leaf lettuce was distributed to wholesalers in Oregon, California, Washington, Colorado, Texas and Pennsylvania. Just red leaf lettuce was distributed to a wholesaler in Minnesota and Tijuana, Mexico, the company said.

There is also a recall on cauliflower distributed to wholesalers in California, Arizona, Illinois, Louisiana, Ohio, Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Tijuana, Mexico and Canada.

The farm was identified by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration as one of the sources of an E. coli outbreak in romaine lettuce last month that sickened 59 people as of last week.

The company and the FDA said sediment from a water reservoir on the farm near where the recalled produce was harvested tested positive for E. coli. The farm said none of the recalled produce has tested positive for E. coli and no illnesses have been reported.

The bacteria can cause gastrointestinal symptoms, such as stomach cramps, diarrhea and vomiting. In some cases, it can cause kidney failure and death.
