Portland-based grocery store chain New Seasons announced Tuesday that it will increase starting pay to $15 per hour for all staff at its Oregon, Washington and California locations in 2019. The new starting wage will take effect on Feb. 1.

The company said it will be increasing wage scales and the frequency of pay increases and instituting a review process that is intended to provide more predictable pay progression. The changes are expected to impact more than 80 percent of New Seasons employees.

Most of New Seasons’ stores are in the Portland metro area. There is one in Vancouver, in the Fisher’s Landing area.
