Congratulations to our mayor and police department for achieving their goal of running all the homeless folks out of the downtown area. Now when tourists drive to our new waterfront expansion, they get the false notion Vancouver has no homeless problem. Good job covering up.
In reality, by breaking down the homeless tent area near Share where they could get their meals, you have driven them to the area around the new Vancouver Navigation Center, where there will be no meals and certainly no place to sleep at night. Remember, it is not a crime to sleep on the ground if you have no other place to lay your head.
The Winter Hospitality Overflow program runs only five winter months, so those folks are put out on the street the end of March. Is solving the homeless problem just idle words?
Merry Christmas to all and shame on you for sweeping our homeless under the carpet. Coal in your stockings!
