Council for the Homeless extended its severe weather alert through Tuesday night.

The alert, which began Sunday, prompts emergency shelters in Clark County to expand capacity and other locations, namely Living Hope Church and the Washougal Community Center, to open as overnight shelters if possible. The Vancouver Navigation Center is open 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily at 2018 Grand Blvd.

The National Weather Service predicts a nighttime low of 30 degrees with areas of freezing fog.

Those seeking shelter should call the Housing Hotline at 360-695-9677. Call 211 for Portland warming centers.
