Kade Ramey had 18 points but it wasn’t enough for the Spudders as Mark Morris clinched at least a share of the 2A Greater St. Helens League title for the 18th straight season.

Garrett Berger had 15 points and Tyler Berger added 10 for the Monarchs (13-6, 11-1), who finish tied with Columbia River atop the league. There will be a coin flip Wednesday to determine the No. 1 seed to the district playoffs.

Ridgefield was held scoreless for a 5 minute, 30 second stretch of the first quarter, which ended with the Spudders trailing 13-4.

The Spudders cut the deficit to four in the second quarter but couldn’t catch the Monarchs.

“We battled, we competed and made a game out of it,” Ridgefield coach Jason Buffum said. “Now it’s the postseason. We feel good about how we’re playing.”

Ridgefield (11-9, 6-6) is the GSHL’s No. 3 seed to districts. The Spudders face Centralia on the road Saturday.
