Canda’s 3-pointer lifts Portland State past Montana State

BOZEMAN, Mont. — Bryce Canda hit his fourth 3-pointer of the game with 20 seconds left, giving Portland State an 80-77 victory over Montana State on Saturday.

Ryan Edwards, snagged the rebound and was fouled after Montana State’s Tyler Hall missed a 3-pointer. Edwards missed the front end of a one-and-one but Derek Brown got the offensive rebound before being called for a backcourt violation while dribbling out the clock. After a long video review, the Bobcats got the ball with 1.4 seconds left but Hall’s 3-point try missed.

Canda finished with 18 points, Brandon Hollins had 16 points and 14 rebounds and Edwards, a transfer from Gonzaga who was a high school star in Kalispell, Montana, finished with 10 points and two blocks for the Vikings (15-10, 5-7 Big Sky).

Harald Frey led the Bobcats (13-13, 6-7) with 22 points while Keljin Blevins and Devonte Klines added 11 each.
