GRESHAM, Ore. — Authorities say an Oregon bus driver was charged with drunken driving after being stopped for speeding.

A Gresham police spokesman said a patrol officer noticed the speeding TriMet bus early Tuesday. After stopping the vehicle, the officer noticed that the 55-year-old driver appeared to be intoxicated.

Paramedics were called in to evaluate the driver before he was processed at the Gresham Police Department. He was later released.

Only one passenger was aboard the bus at the time of the traffic stop.
