Woodland — The Woodland Chamber of Commerce held its annual Chamber Banquet and installation of officers Jan. 20 at the Heathman Lodge in Vancouver, during which time the group handed out some awards.

Vivian Mosby was named Citizen of the Year. In his speech, Jim Bays said Mosby has been a mainstay in the community and has held leadership positions with the Woodland Grange, Downtown Woodland Revitalization, Big Idea Board and 10 years as the chairwoman of “Hot Summer Nights.” Woodland True Value Hardware, which has been in its location since 1976, was named Business of the Year.

In his speech, Mayor Will Finn said the store is an asset to the community, offering help to residents and other businesses. And it has preserved and displayed locally found artifacts, tools and pictures of the area. Cami Thur of the Lucky 21 Casino and Oak Tree Restaurant was named Employee of the Year.

During Stephanie Smith’s speech giving Thur the award, Smith read a comment from Thur’s boss, calling her “a team player (who) will do anything to get the job done, even if it’s not a part of her job description.”
