Boys basketball: Fort Vancouver 70, Mountain View 58

Johnny Green had 23 points, 10 rebounds and six steals and Jameel Morton added 22 points and eight rebounds as the Trappers on 3A Greater St. Helens League play with a win.

James Husband Jr., had 15 points and six assists for Fort, which seized control with a 23-9 edge in the third quarter after leading 30-25 at halftime.

Fort coach James Ensley praised the entire team effort, pointing out the defense of Travis Huffman and Dakota Jones.

“We did a great job of following the scouting report and understanding what Mountain View was trying to do,” Ensley said. “That’s on the players. They deserve a ton of credit.”

Will Prescott had 14 points and nine rebounds for the Thunder.
