A man suffering a gunshot wound to his pelvis was found inside a crashed pickup Friday morning near the Ilani Casino Resort.

At about 9:45 a.m., a Clark County sheriff’s patrol deputy was in the parking lot of the casino, 1 Cowlitz Way at the La Center junction, when the deputy heard squealing tires and a crash on the frontage road leading to the casino, according to a press release from the sheriff’s office.

Upon investigating, deputies found a crashed silver Chevrolet pickup with the driver suffering a gunshot wound to his pelvic area.

The man was transported to an area hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.

Detectives with the Major Crimes Team are investigating the circumstances that led up to the shooting.

No additional information was available Friday before press time.

The casino remained open and was not affected by the incident.
