The Clark County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man who ran over an employee Jan. 5 at a Vancouver Fred Meyer gas station.

“The male driver struck and ran over a female employee who was working at the time,” according to a post on the sheriff’s office’s Facebook page.

The gas station is located in the same area as the Fred Meyer store at 7700 N.E. Highway 99.

After hitting the woman, the man drove off and did not stop to check on her, deputies said. The hit-and-run happened sometime in the evening, they said.

The woman is shook up by what happened, but she is doing well and plans to go back to work soon, said her mother, Debra Farrell, in a message to The Columbian.

On its Facebook page, the sheriff’s office posted two photos from video taken at the gas station, noting that the license plates of the man’s SUV were unreadable in the footage.

Anyone who may know the man is asked to email Deputy Chris Nicholls at Chris.Nicholls@Clark.Wa.Gov.
