Beyonce Bea scored 17 of her game-high 23 points in the second half as the Washougal girls basketball team pulled away from visiting R.A. Long 67-44 on Thursday.

The Panthers won their 10th game in a row, but it was a physical game.

Washougal (11-3, 7-0 2A Greater St. Helens League) led by just four points at the half.

“R.A. Long played tough,” Washougal coach Britney Knotts said. “Then we were able to pick it up defensively in the second half, saw the floor better and rebound better.”

The Panthers had to work through some injuries as Maggie Hungerford suffered a rolled ankle, and Ashley Gibbons lost a tooth but still scored 20 points.

Eastyn Reeves had 22 points for R.A. Long (4-11, 1-6).

“This was good for us,” Knotts said. “Nobody is going to roll over for us. R.A. Long is good. Everyone wants a piece of us. Now we see what we have to bring each game.”
