Letter: Academy plan is misguided

The Jan. 8 story and picture of The Academy property being sold adjacent to the main building was shocking (“2 new buildings planned at The Academy“). Would The Historic Trust actually sell this property to a company that proposed such an ugly monstrosity? As a Clark County native, I have been proud to have such a beautiful testament to the history of Vancouver and I appreciate how the Hiddens stepped up to preserve that history.

Please rethink this decision. The executives who are considering the sale need to go back to the drawing board. They should be ashamed of themselves.
