Letter: Government must work for all

Children’s health care should never be a bargaining chip. Neither should anyone’s ability to stay within their own country with their family. A tax bill worth trillions was passed before anyone had read it. Yet the simple act of protecting American children and families seems impossible to the GOP.

Which makes me come to the only logical conclusion: Greed and bigotry are the only values held by the so-called family-values party. No budget should be passed without clear and permanent solutions for CHIP and DACA. Our government is functioning only for the rich. For the white. The privileged. No. More.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
