The ski resorts in western Washington are warning that warmer temperatures and rain could create an avalanche risk.
The Seattle Times reports that the Mt. Baker Ski Area was closing Sunday and Monday after getting more than 12 feet of snow in the past 10 days.
Officials said the incoming warmer temperatures are expected to create rainy conditions Sunday that could trigger large and dangerous avalanches.
