PRINEVILLE, Ore. — Authorities have recovered the body of a man who went missing when a canoe overturned east of Prineville, Oregon.
Crook County Undersheriff James Savage says divers found the body of Christopher Callahan at 10 a.m. Monday.
Deputies responded Sunday afternoon to reports that a canoe with two fishermen aboard flipped on the Ochoco Reservoir, and the men had become too tired to swim.
One man managed to make it back to shore, but Callahan was not seen after going under the surface. The Prineville man’s body was found not far from where he last was seen, in more than 40 feet of water.
