Isaiah Parker hit the game-tying 3-pointer with 4 seconds to play in regulation, and then made four clutch free throws in the closing seconds of overtime to get Seton the win over visiting Castle Rock.

According to Seton coach Phil Kent, it’s the first time the Cougars clinched a postseason berth with a victory.

Parker finished with a game-high 21 points. Matthew Kent scored 19 points including a 3-pointer in overtime that put Seton ahead by four points.

Seton (7-10, 5-4 1A Trico) was ahead by as much as 14 points in the first half, but went ice cold coming out of halftime. The Cougars scored just eight points in the third quarter to let Castle Rock (6-14, 1-8) back in the game.

“Castle Rock’s defense tightened up, and they handled our pressure,” Kent said.

In the final 38 seconds of regulation, the lead changed or the game was tied four times.
