As someone with a 37-year career serving the U.S. government as a civilian professional engineer (Navy’s Engineering Command and Bonneville Power Administration), watching congressional Republicans attacking both the U.S. assistant attorney general and the FBI director Thursday was disheartening, appalling and scary.
Yes, scary, as a political attack on the Department of Justice and on the FBI is an attack on our whole country — an attack so divisive to our country that it is worse than the terrorist attacks we have successfully overcome.
